What Our Clients Say

Frequently Asked Questions

Our current account minimum is $500,000 in investable assets. For accounts under $1,000,000, an annual financial planning fee applies. We occasionally make exceptions for clients with significant growth potential or multi-generational family relationships. Please contact us to discuss your situation.

Meridian operates on a fee-only basis. We do not earn commissions, referral fees, or any compensation from third parties. Our sole source of revenue is the advisory fees paid directly by our clients. This structure eliminates conflicts of interest and ensures our advice is always in your best interest. See our Fee Schedule for complete details.

Our onboarding process typically takes 2-4 weeks and includes: (1) An introductory call to understand your goals and determine mutual fit. (2) A comprehensive financial data gathering session where we review your accounts, tax returns, estate documents, and insurance policies. (3) Development of your personalized Investment Policy Statement and financial plan. (4) Account transfers and portfolio implementation. (5) A 90-day review meeting to confirm everything is on track. Your dedicated advisory team is available throughout the entire process.

Yes, Meridian Wealth Advisors is a registered investment adviser (RIA) with the SEC, which means we are legally bound by the fiduciary standard. This requires us to act in your best interest at all times, disclose all conflicts of interest, and provide transparent fee information. Unlike broker-dealers who only need to meet a "suitability" standard, we must always put your interests ahead of our own. Read more about what fiduciary duty means.

At minimum, you will receive quarterly performance reports and have semi-annual advisory meetings (in person or virtual). Beyond that, we proactively reach out when market events, tax law changes, or life events warrant a conversation. Our investment committee publishes regular market commentary, and your advisor is always available by phone or email for ad-hoc questions. During periods of elevated market volatility, we increase our communication frequency.

Your assets are held at Charles Schwab, our primary custodian — one of the largest and most reputable financial institutions in the United States. Meridian never takes custody of your funds. You can log into your Schwab account at any time to view your holdings independently. Schwab accounts are protected by SIPC insurance up to $500,000 (including $250,000 for cash) and Schwab provides additional excess coverage through Lloyd's of London.
